Triple Layer RC Car Display Stand

Three 1/10 cars in the table space of one. The tallest build in the line, on the same base and the same rails as everything else, and it still folds flat when the weekend is over.

2. Base & side rail color

Applies to the base and the lower, middle and upper side rails. Three choices.

3. Shelf, sleeve & cap color

Applies to the shelves, the side sleeve covers and the top cap. Nine choices.

The maths

Three cars in 77 square inches of table

Laid flat on a pit table, three 1/10 cars claim most of a folding table. Stacked on a triple, they claim a 10.00 by 12.00 inch rectangle. That is the entire argument for this build.

Single, double and triple TE Racing stands side by side showing the identical base footprint

The footprint never grows

Look at the three stands side by side and the base is the same plate in all three photos. Going from one car to three does not cost you a square inch of pit table, it costs you 13.5 inches of height that was empty air anyway. At a club race where you are sharing a table with two other drivers, that is not a small thing.

Who actually buys the triple

Two groups. Multi class racers who run buggy, truck and short course in the same day and do not want three separate stands. And people who are not racing at all this weekend but want the collection on a shelf at home looking like it belongs there rather than stacked in a plastic tub.

What the third shelf costs

$10.99 over the double. There is no version of this where a third car position for eleven dollars is the wrong call if you have a third car. If you do not, buy the double and add the $25 upgrade kit the day you do.

Straight answer

Why there is no 1/8 scale triple

This is the question we get most on this page, and the honest answer is a design decision rather than a supply problem.

Loaded TE Racing stands holding 1/10 scale RC buggies

Weight, not width

A 1/8 buggy is not a slightly bigger 1/10 car, it is meaningfully heavier. Three of them three levels up on a base this size moves the centre of gravity somewhere we are not comfortable with, particularly on a stand that is meant to be picked up and carried across a pit area with the cars still on it.

What we recommend instead

Two 1/8 doubles at $109 each. Four car positions, a lower and safer load on each base, and you can leave one at home and take one to the track. For three 1/8 cars that is the setup we would run ourselves.

If you mix scales

A 1/10 triple will physically hold a 1/8 car on a shelf, but the shelf and rail spacing was not designed around it and we do not sell it that way. If you run one 1/8 car and two 1/10 cars, email us with the chassis and we will tell you straight whether it works.

Loading order

How to load a three layer stand

Any tall rack rewards loading it in the right order. Four rules, and a triple behaves like a double.

01

Ballast the base

Put the charger and both power supplies in the TE PowerDock first. That weight at floor level does more for stability than anything else you can do.

02

Heaviest on shelf one

The short course truck or the heaviest buggy goes on the bottom shelf, never the top.

03

Wings up top

Anything with a tall rear wing goes on the top shelf where nothing sits above it. Clearance question solved.

04

Carry by the base

Two hands under the base, not a hand on an upper rail. TE ShelfGrip pads hold all three cars while you move it.

Transport

Two feet tall, and it still folds

The usual trade with a three tier rack is that it becomes a permanent fixture. This one does not, because the fold mechanism is the same on all three builds.

TE Racing stands shown assembled and folded flat for transport

TE FoldLock collapses the triple flat in seconds. No tools, no hardware to unscrew, nothing that ends up in the footwell of the truck. Folded, the extra shelves and sleeves stack into roughly the same envelope as a folded single, so the triple is barely thicker in the hauler than the smallest stand in the line.

That matters more on this build than on the others. A three tier stand that could not fold would be the single most annoying thing in your trailer. This one goes in beside a pit bag and comes back out set up in about as long as it takes to read this sentence.

See more of it in the photo gallery, or look at the whole line on the TE Racing page.

Questions

Triple layer stand FAQ

Why is the triple layer stand only offered in 1/10 scale?

Because we are not willing to sell a display stand we would not trust ourselves. Three 1/8 buggies carry far more mass than three 1/10 cars, and stacking that much weight three levels up on a base this size changes how the stand behaves when it is carried or knocked. For 1/8 scale we offer single and double layer, and two 1/8 doubles side by side is the setup we recommend to anyone running three 1/8 cars.

How tall is the triple layer RC car display stand?

The same 10.00 by 12.00 inch base as the single and the double, carrying three shelves instead of one. Contact us for the exact height. That is just over two feet, so it clears most workbenches and shelves but will not fit under a low upper cabinet. Measure your space before ordering if it is going somewhere permanent. In a hauler this is not a factor because it travels folded.

Is a triple stand stable with three cars on it?

It is when you load it correctly, and the rule is the same one you would use for any tall rack: heaviest at the bottom, lightest at the top. The base is the full size plate rather than a narrowed one, and the TE PowerDock in the base takes two power supplies and a charger, which adds useful weight exactly where you want it. Carry it by the base and not by an upper rail.

Does the triple layer stand still fold flat?

Yes. TE FoldLock is the same mechanism on all three builds, so the triple collapses flat in seconds with no tools. Folded it is only slightly thicker than a single because the extra shelves and sleeves stack into the same envelope. A folded triple still travels beside a pit bag instead of claiming its own shelf in the trailer.

What does the triple layer stand cost and is it worth it over the double?

The triple is $119 against $99 for the double, so the third car position costs $10.99. If you run three classes, or if you want the collection displayed at home, that is the easiest $10.99 on this site. If you only own two cars and have no plans for a third, buy the double and add the $25 upgrade kit later.

Can I upgrade a double to a triple?

Yes. The double to triple upgrade kit is $25 and adds the next set of rails, a sleeve and a shelf onto the stand you already own. Tell us the accent color you originally chose and we print the kit to match it, so the finished triple looks like one stand rather than two.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Shipping is a flat rate by region, added at checkout: $24 to the US West, $39 to the Central and Southern states, $59 to the East, and $75 to Alaska and Hawaii. Every stand ships in a 24 by 12 by 8 inch box from San Jose, California by USPS Ground Advantage. Allow 3 to 7 business days for us to print your build, then 2 to 6 business days in transit.

What is your return policy?

You have 14 days from delivery to start a return. Email shon@towerenterpriseinc.com within those 14 days and we will walk you through it. Returns go back by mail and you pay the return shipping. We would much rather answer a fit question before you buy than process a return after, so send us your chassis and we will tell you straight.
