Why you are not buying the stand twice
Every TE Racing stand is built on the same modular rail spine. The base, the rails and the fold mechanism do not change between a single and a triple. Only the number of shelf assemblies does.

What is in a TE Racing upgrade kit?
The next set of TE FlexRail rails, one sleeve cover and one shelf with TE ShelfGrip anti slip pads already fitted. That is everything needed to add one more car position to a stand you already own. It fits onto your existing base and rails, so you are not replacing any part you already paid for.
How much is an upgrade kit?
$25 for either kit, single to double or double to triple. Tax and shipping are added on your address at checkout, the same as any other order on this site.
Will the kit match the colors on my existing stand?
Yes, if you tell us what they are. Pick your original base color and accent color when you order and we print the kit to match, so the finished stand reads as one build. If you would rather run a contrasting shelf, say so instead and we will print that.
Do I need tools to fit an upgrade kit?
No. The kit uses the same TE FlexRail system the rest of the stand uses, so it goes on without tools and without any loose hardware. If anything is not obvious when it arrives, email us and we will walk you through it.
Is upgrading cheaper than buying the bigger stand?
It depends on when you decide. Buying a single at $79 and adding a $25 kit comes to $104 against $99 for a double bought outright, so if you know today that you want two cars, buy the double. The kit is for people who already own a stand and would rather grow it than replace it.
Can I upgrade a 1/8 scale stand to a triple?
No. On 1/8 scale the only kit is single to double, because triple tier is a 1/10 build. The double to triple kit is a 1/10 part and will not fit an 1/8 stand. If you run three 1/8 cars, two doubles side by side is what we recommend.
How much does an upgrade kit cost to ship?
A flat $9 anywhere in the United States. A kit is rails, a sleeve and a shelf, so it goes in a small parcel rather than the 24 by 12 by 8 inch box a whole stand needs. Allow 3 to 7 business days for us to print it and 2 to 6 business days in transit.
